In Access, Under the "Tools" in the menu bar, I went down to "Security" then
"User and Group Accounts" and set a password and verified it. There is no
possible way that the password is wrong that I am entering into the log in
box; the Access (2000) program refuses to log me on. I have gone through
every possible way of getting into the program. I even removed Microsoft
Office from my desktop then reloaded it and it still doesn't work. Currently
I am trying to get at the password through the registry but no success yet.
My database works on other computers but just locked me out on mine. Doesn't
anyone have any suggestions???? Need help fast !

The main reason I ended up messing w/ the security settings is b/c i was
getting an error when trying to access my tables telling me that "There is
another user that has this table open" and wouldn't let me view the table.
The file I was using was located on a flash drive. I am extremely confused
why the security setting is messing up now. Please help me.

What user name are you using? It would be admin. Probably the login dialog
has your network username.

Once you're back in go to the User and Group Accounts and change the
password back to nothing.

Access ships with security turned 'on'. By default you are joined to a
workgroup file called system.mdw. Every time you open Access it silently
logs you in as a user called 'Admin'. By setting a password for this user,
you cause the login dialog to appear.

You should not be modifying this default system.mdw file at all. The
initial step is to create a new workgroup and implement security with that.

If you want to implement security, be sure to study up on it first, and
practice on a copy of your database.

Tools, Security would not help you solve this problem. I wouldn't be using
a mdb directly on a flash drive. Copy it to your harddrive first.
