Does anyone know how to set a specific sending account on individual
contacts? Used to be able to do this but 2007 no longer gives that
option and Yes I have checked help (web/file) on this - no answer

Did you use an addin? Outlook never supported such an option. (It is often
requested.)

If it's asked for that often, why doesn't MS add it then?

Maybe it's a feature added in Business Contact Manager. Would make
sense but damn it. It really needs to be a basic feature just like the
setting for Contact gets Plain Text Only.

Been so long since I've had any need for it that I could be mistaken
and it might have been a different client.

I didn't think BCM had such a feature either.

If they could do it without creating bugs, they would. But there are a
number of issues that need addressed- what happens when you move the pst and
the account doesn't exist or can't be identified as the right account is
just one of the considerations.

Outlook 2010 adds a feature which may reduce the requests for this feature.
Rather than using a default account and making you choose other accounts, it
chooses the sending account based on the account associated with the folder
you are viewing. When I'm reading mail in the pst used by my pop3 account,
all new messages will be from the pop account.

I am really surprised that it took the Outlook engineers so long to
finally instigate that. Binding a default account and a custom 'Reply
To', 'CC', 'BCC' to a folder has been used by other MUAs for quite some
time. I have personally suggested it, along with examples, to Microsoft
for four years now. Are they now going to allow the use of customized
templates (reply, forward, compose) for individual folders also? That
is not a new idea either.
