Hello,

I wonder i anyone out there know how to deal with this Windows XP Prof.
error:
Screen (Blue) is giving the nex message during installation:

"Session3_Initialization_Failed"

I stripped my pc by removing the soundcard (SB5.1) and the NIC (3Com 10/100)
hence to obtain a minimal configuration PC. Tried again to install from the
CD but no success.
Then i partitioned my hard disk using Partition Magic 8 by booting with a
Windows 98 bootfloppy and using the PM8 workfloppy. Wondered if the
installer could go on then and copy the XP installation files.
Either no succes.

Anyone a clue?

Need to mention that i just used another HD in a swap caddy, which worked
fine in this PC.
TCP/IP was corrupted on this HD, tried to reinstall the TCP/IP and also
another NIC, no success.
I then installed NWLink so i could backup my data to my Novell 5.1 server.
That worked fine happily.
Guess that after removing spyware, TCP/IP was corrupted, afterwards.
Before removing the spyware, i backed up the registry.
But now i want to do this new install on a double sized HD in another swap
caddy (80 Gig. instead of the old 40 Gig.) and im halted....

Anyone a clue?

Kind regards,

If a 40Gb drive works OK and the 80Gb does not in the same PC -

Maybe a boot sector/partition table virus (or corruption) on the HDD - try
FDISK /MBR from the WIN98 floppy - then FDISK and delete all partitions as
well.

Or possibly your PC BIOS doesn't support 80Gb disks -although the symptoms are
typically a lock-up during BIOS POST
