Hi
At the back end of 2003 I tried to install a security patch on my primary DC, during the process it blue screened - did not panic at this stage - upon trying to reboot the sytem it blue screened another 6 to 8 times - unfortunately I did not write the information down at the time because the blood was draining from my face at the time - after severeal attempts to load last known good profile the machine managed to gasp into life. However since then various services refuse to start - World Wide Web Publishing Service, Site Server ILS Service, Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP), QoS Admission Control (RSVP), Windows Installer. Various other things seem to be falling off the thing. I have tried repairing the registry to no avail... Any ideas - apart from setting light to the thing

Regard

Pete

Have you tried pressing F8 at startup and choosing last
known good configuration?
Then try safe mode...

If you are still having no luck you need to insert the
win disk and use the repair console to repair any damaged
system files.
There are good instructions on the microsoft site for
using the recovery console.

Rgds, Simon.
