Hi there.

My pc (P4 2.4, 512mb ddr 400, 70gb hd, with dual boot XP and 2K (inc.SP4))

is having a problem.

Whenever i connect to the internet in 2k (via an external USB broadband modem, speedtouch 330 or something)

within an apparently random amount of time (1-10 minutes)

an error dialogue comes up, saying

services.exe has had an exception (or whatever)
status code 128
system restarting in 60 seconds (counting down)

Now. This always happens, and it's quite annoying. I checked google and downloaded a hotfix from the windows site, a patch apparently included in SP4 anyway, and tried it. No avail. removed.

I read something about share folders registry disagreements, checked it out- everything was in order. Just to be safe I've unshared everything. still reboots upon connection to the internet.

So what could it be?

My next step will probably be to do a repair installation of 2k. but i'd rather fix it properly, obviously.

So if anybody has any ideas, I'd be indebted to hear.

cheers

B
