Services.exe at 100% CPU after latest Windows Update

After installing updates 329115 and 828749, my machine has
slowed to a crawl. Logging in takes 15 minutes. The Task
Manager indicates that "services.exe" is taking up all CPU
constantly.

Have tried starting in Safe Mode with the same results.

I am attempting to uninstall, but the uninstall wizard for
329115 has been stuck on "Inspecting Current
Configuration" for 20 minutes, so I am not hopeful it will
ever complete.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Brian

Never mind... problem solved.

For anyone who thinks that they may be having the same
problem...
The issue is that the Event Log Service could not start
due to the existing log files being corrupt. I disabled
the Event Viewer Service and restarted, then deleted
the .EVT files from %windir%\system32\config, re-enabled
the Event Viewer Service and rebooted.

Not sure if this had anything to do with the application
of the two updates, or if this was coincidental.
