I have had my computer for over a year and have installed any update i have been sent but lately i decided to install service pack1 on my computer. I only have a dial up connection and it took over 90 minutes to download. When installed and my computer rebooted up to the welcome page and then stalled and whatever i tried i could not get my computer to work correctly i had to run system restore to get back to as it was. Could anyone tell me if i need to do anything before installing the sevive pack to stop my computer locking up.

See if this helps:

Do you think you could clarify the above? You installed any update you were
sent?
You installed updates before you installed SP1?
