Hi -
Two days ago I installed auto-updated and installed seven
KB patches (see #s below). Since then, whenever saving a
file or copy/pasting between apps, my PC just reboots.
I'm reluctant to unistall so many patches until I'm
convinced that's the right thing to do, lest more problems
are created.

Win2K SP2 with many patches
Dell Optiplex 110, P667
Using Office 97 SR2 and MIE 5.5 SP1

KB#s:
KB810217
KB826232
KB828035
KB823182
KB824141
KB825119
KB828749

Sun of a gun, I dont believe it!
I have the exact same problem!!!
i use a laptop for business operation, and wouldnt you
know it, when i was at a customers house, the @#$%^%#$@!
computer started rebooting on me everytime i logged in!
and then i was embarrased as a m!@#$^%&*(*^%$ and couldnt
print out an invoice for the customer!
and this happened over and over..
i finaly re-installed windows w2k, after testing at the
office, no problem, then i get to a customers house and
thats right you guessed IT !#@$%&^*(#^%&*(*&^%$#$%^& ,
ooooo that really really gets me, then i ZERO FILLED MY
HARD DRIVE! , REFORMATTED, REINSTALLED WINDOWS AGAIN! AND
SAME PROBLEM, THEN I RUN TO THE STORE AND BUY AN EMERGENCY
LAPTOP HARD DRIVE BECAUSE I AM CONVINCED THAT ITS THE
PROBLEM... AND EVEN ON A NEW HARD DRIVE I HAVE THE SAME !
@$#%#@ PROBLEM!@#$%^&y^%$#@#$% that is how i found you
letter, looking for some solution...
i thought i may have got a virus, so i emergency ordered
some norton pro internet super pack anti viral and
internet problem handler, and its not here yet... i have
lost alot of sleep, and i am pissed...

Thats right i almost forgot,., yes i did get the screen of
death as well, and it said memory dump, and another time
it said something else, and one time it got so bad
(because i kept letting it reboot (about 60 times)) it
wouldnt even boot at all, safe mode, no nothing, all is
siad was "tell your (something person, i forget) that your
kernal needs a dll" or something close to that.....
THIS SUCKS!
i cant even use the original version, because our business
management software needs parts of updates, maybe i will
just do service pack 1 and see what the !@$%^IO*^$%
happens...
