Service Packes Self Uninstalling?

Hello:

I wanted to know if anyone had heard of this before. We
four computers with Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 on them.
We went to do a round of updates to them only to find that
out, of all of our computers, we had these four that seem
to have uninstalled the Service Pack on their own. The
users do not have Administrative Privileges. Any Ideas as
to what might have happened? And yes I know for a fact
that these computers did have the service pack installed
on them.

The only way to remove the service pack would be via add/remove or
spuninst.exe, they wouldnt remove themselves on their own unless the
installation was seen as corrupt in which case we would roll back.
