I am trying to install W2k Advanced Server + SP4 to a industrial server.
This server uses adaptec scsi card, whereby channel A is connected to local
harddisks raid1 (C:\) while channel B is connect to external cluster storage.

When I first install W2k Advanced Server without service pack4, reboot with
channel B connected to cluster and there's no problem. But after I install
SP4 it took about 20-35 min to startup the operating system. It's still
taking so longer after i reinstall the SCSI & hostraid driver.

Any solutions for this?

Regards.

Perhaps enable boot logging, then view the log
Or look in Event Viewer
It appears to be hanging on a driver
Adaptec has no driver update?

Already installed the adaptec driver during OS installationg (by pressing F6).
I also tried to reinstall the drivers again after SP4 installation.

System log stated :
Source: adpu320
Event ID: 9
Description: The device, \Device\Scsi\adpu320, did not respond within the
timeout period

Then the adaptec driver is the problem, is an update of this or their card
firmware available on adaptec site?
