On some of my Windows 2000 servers after installing sp4 I can no longer view performance counters or event viewer. Even though the account being used is an administrator I get an "access denied". Can still view shared folders and users and groups. Anyone else having this problem? We use a third party monitoring software to scan logs and counters and the administrator account it uses no longer can access. Thank you for any help.

I am having a problem with SP4 too. I pushed it via SUS to
my W2K SP3 clients last night. Those who received the
update were unable to get their roaming profiles. When I
uninstalled SP4 (back to SP3), they were then able to get
roaming profile.

I suspect what is causing your problem may be causing
mine. You might see if removing SP4 brings your
functionality back.
