SP4 contains a worm or virus and so do other updates that
I downloaded from the MS site within the last 3 days that
start with the letters K and Q. All 3 of my systems
crashed. Recovery is a joke and one of my hdd had to be
reformatted. I have worked non-stop for this entire time
and one system is still down. The two that work have a
hard time accessing the cd for some reason and one of
those two is running only 16 bit instead of 32. Calling
MS for help on a clone is out of the question because they
charge you for time now if you havent bought your system
from them. Mine are out of warranty on day 1.

I did the same, two nights ago I did the SP4, nemas problemas, I run the
Windows Update on my machine, it took 20 minutes in total.

Last night I did the remaining Criticals, first Explorer 6, then all
remaining criticals.

It all worked smooth as silk and the machine runs OK. Used the Windows
Update and let it do the job, no viruses and absolutely no problems.

So, the conclusion is that it can work just fine.
