Service Pack 2

I have it at work and at home and very little problems. I would take an
inventory of your current application use and see if they have any
documentation online or FAQ's or information that can lead you to make the
decision. The hard part is finding out after the fact. I would say that you
should go for it. It will make you a bit more secure.
Do a search for XP SP2 problems online and see what comes up. You can talk
with your motherboard / systemboard manufacturer and see if there is any
problems with upgrading as well as your processor and all other components
that might be causing problems.

Hope this helps.

I had SP1. I had a broken Help and Support. I fixed it with a HTML Help update at Microsoft. I installed
SP2. I was broke again.

Neil;
Very little has changed.
SP-2 is identical now as it was when released and most likely will be
identical to SP-2 in a year.
Well maintained computers have fewer problems with SP-2 than poorly
maintained computers:

I had no problems, but then my computers are maintained.

It's the same old story. Folks are having major problems with their pcs
[due to poor maintence but they dont know that] and figure that an OS
upgrade will fix everything.

Which is pretty much the worst time to upgrade.

Heck, even many new "techs" suggest same on problem pcs.

Not sure if I agree with that completely, based on my five systems here and
those brought into my shop. I have found that XP systems don't really need
to be 'maintained'. Cleaned yes, but not maintained. But then, I have
never been a user of html, third party anti-virus software, nor updates nor
checking for updated drivers. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

That said, explain your interpretation of "well maintained" and reasoning
for such a broad statement.)
