I have my puter set to recieve automatic updates, when
will the new SP2 update be installed? Since I use aol as
provider, will there be any issues involved?
 
It is available now on Microsoft website. Good luck!! I
have had nothing but problems with downloads etc since I
installed the thing on my two home PC's last week. I
have not been able to resolve the problems after trying
for over 12 hours!

Start/Run --> winver

If you see this line in the dialog box, you got SP2:

Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158 : Service Pack 2)

also would it be better to install it from the cd they offer
and if I have sp2 pro cd, and I am home os will it make a
difference?

Installing from CD is good (I prefer that over updating
over the Internet).

The SP2 installer is common for all versions of Windows XP,
so it does not matter if you have WinXP Pro or Home.
