Service Pack 2 Popup Stopper

information bar on WIN XP SP2. look at the link below, apparently it messes
with the Active x settings.
We could do with more info about how to deal with this in relation to our
courses.
It does not allow windows to open, when the SP2 PUS is disabled.
The only way around is to turn on WIN XP PUS and hold the ctrl key.

Is the above true or is something more sinister to blame.
Could someone point me in the right direction please.

Are the sites offering the course work all part of the same domain? If so,
you can add the domain to either the list of "allowed sites" in the pop-up
blocker settings, or in the list of "trusted sites" in the general Security
settings. Such as: "*.online.someschool.edu" or something. I'd put them in
the pop-up blocker's list before resorting to Trusted Sites.
