I have xp professional and I upgraded from Norton 2003 to 2004 and installed SP 2. When I turn on the firewall for Norton, I can not surf the web even with the SP 2 firewall disabled. So to be able to access the internet and not receive a "page cannot be displayed" message I have to keep Norton's firewall disabled and use XP's firewall only. No I don't have both on at the same time, but there seems to be some sort of conflict somewhere...

Thanks,
Jill

I asked this question before and no one answered, please can someone let me know their opinion.

Since it is a problem with the Norton firewall you need to ask them.

Also, these newsgroups are full of complaints about compatibility issues with Norton.

I am running Norton Antivirus 2005 which I recently upgraded from 2004. I
had no issues with either after the installation of SP2, or before. I have
it running on my 5 home computers, and 23 computers that I have control over
at work. No issues on any of the machines that I have it installed on. I
suspect your problem lies elsewhere.

I have to agree. I have had no issues with Norton System Works 2004 and
2005 and SP2 on my machines either.

I now have SP2 running on 2 drives with NSW2004 coexisting.
The issue I have is that the NSW 2004 has a permanent error
LU1848 in its Live Update, which it would take so much
finagling to correct, that I just live with it. But the
coexistence with SP2 seems to be established.
