Service pack 1 disaster

Help. I'm a user with only basic knowledge. I was installing Service Pack 1 last night when it experienced a network interruption. When I hit retry it went nowhere. After a while I closed the setup. I attempted to start again from the beginning but the installation quickly fails, no doubt because of the previous attempt. When looking at installation history, it shows the failed after attempts and also shows the original attempt as "in progress"

When displaying my Windows directory, there are many files named "$uninstall...". I've stopped short of deleting these files or uninstalling them through control panel

I'm reluctant to reboot the system fearing that I will implement a partial installation with disasterous results

How can I wipe out this partial installation and start over - or at least get back to my previous state

Thanks much
Wheelman

Reboot is a good start, it may prompt to finish on its own.

Otherwise follow this to install SP 1:
