Service.exe got into 90-100% and did not stop after applying windows updates

I have downloaded a lot of windows updates and after
reloading the computer, the service.exe process did not
stop and maintain at 90-100% of the CPU Utilisation.

Can anyone advise me how to resolve this problem?
Do I have to reinstall W2K Professional?

AMOUNT of posts and the answer to your issue is found in those posts.

That's is caused by the update but microsoft have a new
hotfix that helps you to fix this problems go to their
support page and download it , good luck

I am experiencing the same problem with KB835732, but have
never had a problem before. Were you able to resolve?
