Servers Local mmc opens a remote sysvol share???

OK… here's one I can't figure out

(Windows 2000 SP4 single domain, multiple DC across a Frame rely)

Server A is holding the FSMO roles.
Server B is just another DC.
Server C just another DC

When I open the "Users and Computers" mmc on Server A, it opens the
sysvol folder on Server B.

However, if I go to Server C and open the same mmc, it sends me to the
sysvol share on Server A (which would seem to rule out permissions
problems)

Servers D – K, all just local site DCs on the network, send me to the
local sysvol folder of each perspective machine.

We have Site and Services set up, seemingly correct, since all users
do in fact validate with their local DC.

Has anyone seen this type of behavior, and could you point me down the
path of solution… please???

One other thing, one of the other administrators tells me that this
does not happen to him. Now that confuses my even more as I am not
using any sort of roaming profile.

If you are going across the WAN when there are local DCs you sites are
either misconfigured, or not configured.

Check to make sure that there's no typo's in your subnets and that the
correct subnets are associated with the correct sites.

When you UNC to \\domain\sysvol, right-click, choose properties and Dfs and
see which server your on. Is it local or remote??

Have you configured costs on your site links or are they default??
