Server Webmail Problem

I have IE 6, Windows XP. I recently attempted to download a free spamware
program and after that I was having problems downloading certain email from
my ISP server to Outlook Express. So I uninstalled the spamware program, but
now I am unable to access the ISP server webmail website at
http://mail.copper.net/express.asp. I get an Internet Explorer message that
reads, "You have been logged out due to inactivity." I have contacted my ISP
technical support and they said to go to the Control Panel>Internet Options.
Once here, click on the Delete Cookies button that is in the middle of the
General tab. It will prompt if you wish to delete all the cookies, go ahead
and click on ok. The next place, click on the Delete Files button. There
will be a checkbox where it will ask if you wish to delete all offline
content, place a check in that box and then click Ok. At this time, reboot
the machine. Well, I did that to no avail. Anyone have another suggestion
to fix this problem. I can still get email through Outlook Express, but I
have message rules set up to keep emails with large files out on the ISP
server so now I can't get to them.

Hi K. Christiansen,
You didn't mention the Spamware (Anti-spware I will take it) Programs to get
focused answer.
Something to start with, try to go to the IE Properties and click on *
Programs tab *, then click on Manage Add-ons and see what is there and does
any Ad-Ons belong to the pre-mentioned Spamware programs, if it does try to
disable them and Reboot your computer and see if you can get to the Email
server and download your e-mails.
Again try to be sure your System is clean from malwares and viruses to
eliminate this side and focus on others.
HTH.
Please let us know your findings.

Well......I feel like a real dummy!!!! I just happened to think to check to
see if possibly somehow "cookies" were blocked for that website and sure
enough, they were. I changed setting to allow "cookies" and everything is
back to normal. Last week I had changed the settings under Internet
Options/Privacy tab to Override automatic cookie handling and, my guess would
be, my husband attempted to get in to webmail and when prompted as to whether
or not to accept cookies, he must have clicked "No". I have since unchecked
the Override automatic cookie handling so this does not happen again. Thanks
for your help anyhow. Maybe this discussion will help someone else before
they pose a question and needlessly take up someone's time to reply.
