Hi,

I have problems sending and receiving mail. Webmaster says its nothing to
do with the server, but may be Mail. The messages I get are:-

-- Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes
for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'Test A', Account: '64.235.247.170', Server:
'64.235.247.170', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number:
0x800CCC0F

and

Account: '64.235.247.170', Server: '64.235.247.170', Protocol: POP3, Port:
110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19

He assures me I have set the Mail up correctly. It suddenly stopped working
a couple of days ago.

Many thanks folks!

Hello!

Are you installed any Anti-Virus product before the problem started
happening? As some Antivirus using mail filtering proxies can cause this.

I see that your webmaster still has not corrected the less than
optimal solution of using an IP address (64.235.247.170) rather
than a server name. That aside, he should have advised you about
the rather common 'port 25 block' issue. Your ISP will not allow
you to use a non-ISP SMTP server on port 25. The workaround
is to substitute your ISP's SMTP server for what you are currently
using as the outgoing mail server. If you need help with that,
let me know who your ISP is.
