I'm ashamed to say that I havn't a clue where to put this post or what to do.
Trying to investigate an error with Windows Server 2003, two of 3 remotes will not connect to the server, all remotes are running XP Pro. Two the the remotes have been fully restored and still will not connect. We get an error that say "incorrect user name and password" but this is the ADMIN we are using, and it does work on the host pc running server 2003.
Then the person noted that they had attempted to install ISS 5 but we think that they did it incorrectly. So we installed the program correctly, replacing any allready exisiting files with new ones and then uninstalled it. Now all 3 remotes cannnot connect.
On the server side we cannot detect the remotes in the work group, and when we try we get an error like, "The server cannot complete the requested task" doing a google search the best I could find was that this was a Windows error and the 'fix' was N/A.
At this point we can log into the host pc, no remotes can connect, we think we need to image the drive than reinstall the whole server OS...
Any advice???
