I have been having the same problem. Restarting the
server service fixed it, but I have to restart the
service frequently. I'm still trying to find out why the
service is failing.

Good luck.

Hi Steve,
If a service is failing to start you should get some indication as to
why by reviewing the errors and warnings on the system event logs. We
definitley need more information to help you with this one. Please report
back what you see in the system event logs.

This is what I get when I look in the Event Viewer.

The value named IRPStackSize in the server's registry key
LanmanServer\Parameters was not valid, and was ignored. If you want to
change the value, change it to one that is the correct type and is within
the acceptable range, or delete the value to use the default. This value
might have been set up by an older program that did not use the correct
boundaries.

What does this all mean?

My apologies...this was a mispost. My issue is posted
as "Corrupt Service". There are however no applicable
errors in any of the event logs. The server service just
seems to fail and need a restart. Every thing is properyl
patched also.

Hi.

You need to follow this article listed below and increase the IRPSTACKSIZE,
if you have plenty of memory I would increase it to the maximum. This
failure in the event log will cause the Server Service to fail no not come
online during boot.
