I have a small peer-to-peer home network, one pc has XP
Home edition and the other has XP Pro, which have been
running fine for some time. Recently, I had to replace the
C: drive on the XP Pro machine and had to reinstall XP
from scratch. Everything seemed to be ok and I can connect
to the internet thru my router ok on both pc's. However,
I've found that the XP Pro pc is not seen on the network
by the Home pc. I can see the XP home pc from the Pro but
not viceversa. When I try to share the C drive of the Pro,
I get the error message saying Server Service is not
started. I have tried running the small network wizard and
get the same results. I also ran the command fsmgmt.msc,
and when I try to open the shared folder, I get the same
message, Server Service not started, along with the error
code 2114, which does not seem to compute anywhere!
Any suggestions?

To start the Server service:

1. Right click My Computer, and click Manage.
2. Double click Services and Applications.
3. Double click Services.
4. Double click Server. If the Service status is Stopped, click
Start.
5. Set the Startup type to Automatic.

If that doesn't solve the problem, look for messages about the Server
service in Event Viewer. For more information, see:
