I have a Win2000 computer with Service Pack 4. I recently installed SP4 to
see if it would fix the problem. The problem being that every time the
computer is restarted, the Server Service does not start, even though it is
set to automatically start with Windows. Does anyone out there have a fix
for this problem, as it is seriously starting to get on my last nerve!!

Thanks in Advance

Jason

I don't think so, but I'm not sure that it would be the Blaster Virus. I'll
try it, anyway.

Hi Jason,
What errors are logged on the System Event Logs upon reboot. There
should be some indication of what is causing the problem. I'm guessing
that you are able to start the service manually after the system is
rebooted?

Thank you,

I never noticed the event log, but yes, I am able to restart the service
after the computer has rebooted.

This is what I get when I look in the Event Viewer.

The value named IRPStackSize in the server's registry key
LanmanServer\Parameters was not valid, and was ignored. If you want to
change the value, change it to one that is the correct type and is within
the acceptable range, or delete the value to use the default. This value
might have been set up by an older program that did not use the correct
boundaries.

What does this all mean?

Have a look at article 285089. Did you have a zipdrive or something like
that attached?
