Why would a server operator account be unable to stop/start the spooler
service. We get an "access is denied" error.

Try making them a Print Operator... not sure if Print Operators have that
right on the spooler either but give it a try.

You can also change the ACL on that service. Get SubInACL from the Win2000
resource kit, or from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...56-d8fe-4a91-93cf-ed6985e3927b&displaylang=en

subinacl /service Spooler /grant=User=TOP

Replace user with the user in question. I think you can put a group in
there too.

(TOP means they can sTart, stOp and Pause the service)

I'm sorry but I don't understand your question?

This particular machine is a domain controller.

I'll try adding to the group first. I thought definitely a server operator
would have this ability since it has so many other capabilities. I'll let
you know.
