when i try to connect to my server i get this error

"server" is not accessible. the list of servers for this
workgroupis not currently available.

im using win2k prof on my laptop......i can ping to the
servers but i cannot access them or browse the
network..................

Can you ping them by name? When you do, do you get the FQDN returned?
Are you specifying only the AD DNS server in your IP settings (with
forwarders set up on it for Internet resolution)?

In addition to Lanwench's suggestions, please see my reply to the other
identical thread right below.

Remove your ISP's DNS from your NICs on all machines. Use only your local
DNS IP on all machines.
For Internet resolution configure you DNS as per this KB and optionally you
can use your ISP's DNS as its forwarders, this is the only place that should
refer to your ISP's DNS.

Yes, remove the ISP's immediately, as Kevin said. This is *problematic* with
AD. Follow Kevin's suggestions.

At what point does this error pop up? Is it when you click on the workgroup name or the server itself? Try accessing the server via Start>Run>\\servername
\sharename. Does this work? If not try it via \\serverip\sharename.
