I have a server in windows 2000 with sharing folder and a sharing printer.
From the server I can see all the workgroup.
Forom the other PC I can access to X: (\\server\share), but I am unable to
connect with th printer. And when I try to see server in network neiborhood,
from the workstations in windows 2000, gives the message ( Server is not
accessible, The server is not configured for transactions ). The lan was
working until last week, I dont know what hapen.

Thanks, Regards.

Peter

You would first want to check the permissions on the
print share and file shares.

If you cannot even "see" the server in Net Neighborhood,
it is likely that either 1) nothing is shared or 2) you have
a NetBIOS resolution problem IF you have more than one
subnet.

The shares are configured. When I browse network from server I can see my
shares and other shares of workstations. But when I try to browse from other
computers sometimes I see the server and when I try to open gives me the same
warning. The sunet are the same.

You told that could be a netbios problem, how can I solve it.

Thanks

That doesn't mean it works the other way around.

Ok, what about the permissions?

Since you only have one subnet, NetBIOS name resolution is
almost never the problem.

Thank you for your help, by th way the problem was virus in the server, know
is solved.

Thanks, Regards
