Server Internet Connection Problem

Hi, I'm setting up a windows 2000 server for a home
network. I've got the WIN2K NAT running, and clients can
connect perfectly, however, I'm having problems with the
internet connection on the server.

I've got a 3COM PCI card, and the other is a 3COM ISA
card. The ISA card is on the internet connection, and the
other is the local connection.

It seems, that the internet connection only works when I
unplug the local connection from network (so it loses
it's IP address). When both cards are connected, they
both have all the correct connection information. The
network host is 192.168.0.1, and the other one is a
dynamically assigned IP from a cable modem. The internet
card gets all the correct connection info (DNS, Default
gateway etc...) but for some reason, I can't make any
sort of connection to the internet.

It would seem to me that it's trying to use the local
connection to make internet connections, but I don't know
why.
does anyone know how to resolve this issue? thanks

Check the bindingorder (Network Connections, Advanced, Advanced) and make
sure the internal nic is on top.
Can you post the ipconfig/all please?

DNS on your servernics should *only* point to your server-IP. You don't fill
in the 2nd DNS-field.
On your internal nic the gateway should be blank.
You put the ISP-DNS-numbers in the tab Forwarders of DNS-server.
Check the bindingorder of your nics and make sure the internal nic is on
top.
