Hi,

There seems to be 2 imaging programs for servers out there of any size - Acronis enterprise and Symantec Backup Exec System restore
(formerly live recovery). Has anyone used both of these and can give me a recommendation as to which one is best?

Thanks!

How do you define best, pricing, faster, density, reliability, ease to use?

Best to me is reliability first, speed second, ease of use third, pricing last. Thanks! Not sure what you mean by "density".

I much prefer the Acronis product myself.

OK. Any specific reason why? Just curious. I had one other person say the same pref also. Thanks!

I hate the user interface in Backup Exec, its a real dinosaur now.

The Acronis product is so much more capability wise too.

The only real downside with Acronis in my opinion is that
they do tend to release builds early, so if you see any quirks
with a particular build you should just try the latest build.

No problem.

OK. Sounds good.

I use a program called Drive snapshot, its a modular program (don't
have to install) around 200k, no need to install, you can also split
the backup to span any size format. Great for backup up whole comps and
freezing them on DVD's. Ive used a number of imaging programs, and all
have been crap to me. I cant rave enough about this program. Only down
side is price, i believe around 60.00. Check it out it, it has a fully
free functional trial.

$60 is super cheap. Acronis True Image server is $699. But I think Acronis is probably the best out there right now. I'm getting
ready to try their trial now.
