My site is pretty large but all of the sudden I can't update the server
anymore.
It takes forever Listing the pages (before anything is transferred to the
server).
Then I get a Server Error saying that it Timed Out.

Contact your host to see if they will increase the server timeout
- or consider breaking it up into smaller subwebs

There is no such DNS result of www.dfwtejano.com . Please contact the ISP
to make sure the domain name isn't offline.

I'm in contact with the folks that handle the server. Not sure what the
results will be yet.
My question to this group is this:

1. If I break this up into subwebs, what will be the disadvantages (other
than the fact that I will have to open different projects to make specific
updates)?
2. What are the advantages?
3. At what point does FrontPage 2003 begin to have issues with large
websites (number of pages, number of files)?

I'm sorry but it's http://dfwtejano.com in your original thread...

Generally speaking, if the site can be properly browsed in IE, then you
should be able to open it in FrontPage without problem in case you have the
approriate FPSE permission. So if the symptom occurs, please ping the
domain name dfwtejanos.com to see if there is a timeout error. If ping
works, try telnet to the server's 80 port:

telnet dfwtejano.com 80

Input some random characters and type enters. A normal response should be
http 400 bad request from web server. If the connection fails, it should
indicate the web site is offline at that time.

Thanks.

I'm still having lots of trouble doing updates to my server. The error is a
server Time Out issue. This newsgroup has given me some information already
but I need more help. I've been in conversations with the tech group (for
my server). They say they are working the issues. I'm trying to get them
to increase the Time Frame that is allowed for FrontPage to update. They
seem to be Oppose to this because it would have to apply to the entire
server. I don't understand why that should be an issue for them.

Basically, my website "seems to be to big" and FrontPage seems to be VERY
slow in analyzing what pages have changed. Therefore, before it can begin
updating, the server times out.

The company that has my domain, does not recommend subwebs. I don't
understand why because I have several subwebs already and they seem to work
fine. I plan to revisit this issue with the company to get a better
understanding. On thing that happens is this. When they
uninstall/reinstall FP Extensions, all my subwebs go away (converted to
plain folders). Then I have to go back and update all of them again. This
process has gotten cumbersome.

What I have done:
I've broken some parts into subweb but this seems to NOT be a good solution.
The reason is because of shared components that I'm using. Headers,
Footers, Color, some Graphics, and the Menu (done in JavaScript) have to all
be copied to each subweb. Lots of duplicate work to break it up into
subwebs.

So far, I have not (APPARENTLY), broken this into enough subwebs to avoid
the Server Time Out Issue.

HELP HELP HELP.... WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?

Added Note: I have several websites with this company (powweb.com). I only
have issues with this one website (listed above).

Thanks.

When you say you site is too big you need to qualify that
I have had not problems w/ a FP site of over 2400 pages
(site size over 80 MB including media + 40 MB subweb of "large" media)
Large media files are often the problem
-if you have any media files over 1 MB put them in a separate subweb (just for the media)

View your server and publishing logs to where it times out

Stefan,
These are emails that come into the default "Inbox". They remain in the
Inbox. This is what I do:
Right click on the email (in Inbox) | Follow Up | Add Reminder.
From there, I set the date and time. Setting the color of the flag in "In
Material" ... so it doesn't matter what it gets set to. When I'm done, the
email should automatically copy to the "Follow Up" folder until the reminder
has been cleared (from the Reminder Window that pops up to remind you).

This is not happening for me nor my co-worker (at work using laptops). But
for some reason, it works fine on the desktop computer at the house.

Thanks for your input thus far.

Here are the details using Windows Explorer | Properties. I guess this
would include Hidden files/folder:

Main Website: 61 mb 3432 files, 346 folders
Subweb1: 45 mb 1020 files, 79 folders
Subweb2: 4 mb 564 files, 4 folders
Subweb3: 12 mb 88 files, 25 folders
Subweb4: 2.5 mb 260 files, 58 folders
Subweb5: 116 mb 660 files, 40 folders
Subweb6: 24 mb 454 files, 33 folders

This is it. I won't bother totaling it up. My largest single file that
I've seen so far is 589kb. I have lots of files and folder but the contents
are not large. The tech guys at PowWeb says the time out for the server is
set for 15 minutes, however, I time out in exactly 2-minutes.
