Hello,
I've been doing some changes on my w2k server and I have rebooted it.
Now it doesn't want to start, the server stay on "network connections
preparation", please wait.
I've tryed all the differents boot possibility I can't open a session
and take the control of my server!
Does someone have another way to open a session on a w2k server, maybe
a boot disk??
Please help me!!!
Thanx

P.S: It looks like the dns is not well configurated on the server and
it's like the server was looking on the network for something (the
network card is on activity)

Did you try unplugging the network cable from the NIC and then booting up?

A number of problems can cause this. One main reason is using your ISP's DNS
address in IP properties. DO you remember changing that to your ISP's?

To change that in your situation, boot to safe mode, go into the registry
under HKLM\CCS\services\TCP and find which NIC you have and change it back
to itself, that is assuming DNS is installed on this machine.

Now if that is not helpful, setup anohter DNS with your AD zone name, allow
updates, then go back into the reg of that machine and change the DNS
address to the new machine.

If that still doesn;t work, then I'm inclining to think you have a single
label name AD domain name and SP4 installed on the machine, which disallows
registration. OR the Primary DNS Suffix is incorrect on the machine. OR a
combo of both issues.

There is something more:
If I boot on restauration active directory mode then the server
restart after this message:
"the service c:winnt\system32\lsass.exe have been stop in an
irreguliar way state code 1066598274 so it will restart the system"
(french translation)

Ok, we need to ask at this point, what exactly and *specifically* did you
change on this machine right before all this started happening?
