Hi Billy,
Not clear on your question. Did you install Windows 2000 Pro or 2000 Server? If you installed
Windows 2000 Pro, then there should not be any problems. If you installed Windows 2000
Server as a stand alone installation, such as a member server not a member of the domain,
or evenb as a member of a domain, there should not be any issues. Now to access
resources on that server, you will need to either create accounts for those users who need
access or allow everyone access to the resources.
The IPC$ is on all OS'es now, from 2000 to XP to 2003. So that should not be an issue with
accessing the resources. Create a test account on the 2000 box and then use the same test
account and password on another box and see if you can access the shares.
Hope this helps,
Gary

'--'I recently installed Win2000 on a networked computer.
'--'This is not the server, but it thinks it is. How do I
