server connection timed out

I'm using:
XPPRO
IIS
Frontpage2002
I'm trying to publish from the http://localhost to the same. like
http://localhost/example to http://localhost/anotherexample

It seems to go through the paces then hangs and gives a JS alert type box
that says "the server connection timed out" with an OK to close.

I've cleared the temp files in the two publish destination webs and such.

I've restarted the computer too. I've dropped different firewalls and virus
guard.

anybody seen similar problems, and hopefully solved them? ;-)

I'll sure give it a try. I'm about 3/4ths of the way down Jim B's list of
tricks to no avail so anything that doesn't involve an axe is more than I
can think of myself ;-)

Chain saws are much more efficient. Make lots of pretty sparks too.

This site is best viewed............

but you see the axe is much more hands on, and it won't fill the office with
2stroke exhaust. ;-)

Try creating the subweb first in FP, then publishing to it
- in IIS you can lengthen the time out (root web properties)

IMHO
if you are getting a time out on your local host you have too many services running in the background (or not enough memory
installed)
