I installed FrontPage 2000 on new Windows XP machine this week.
I used the same FrontPage 2000 on Windows ME for 4 yrs.
with no problems.
Now when I try to upload to my site I get 'the server unexpectantly closed
the connection' message.
I called my web host and they say its ok on their end,
and tracert is ok.
My ISP says to increase server time-out in FrontPage.
I would not know how to do that and they could not tell me.
Anyone with ideas or maybe I should not run FP2000 on WinXp.
I would appreciate any help.

They cannot tell you because it cannot be done with FP. Server Time
Out is configured on the server - your host has to change this, it has
nothing to do with FrontPage, although the time-out setting may affect
FP's publishing ability.

Time outs can occur in some circumstances when the site is large.
Large is subjective and the actual size varies from host to host, and
client to client, and even day to day depending on how busy (and how
heavily loaded) the server is. Upgrading from ME to WinXP may have
shifted the balance unfavourably.
If your site can be considered large try splitting it into subwebs.

PS
Also check if you are running a Firewall (like NIS) that it is not blocking you
