Hello

I have installed Server 2003 evaluation copy on to one of our servers, in
the mean time the Server has become integrated into the network & I don't
want to rebuild if this is possible?

We have another copy of MS Server 2003 & have only used 3 licences so there
are 2 remaining! My question is can I change the Serial Number on the 2003
evaluation edition? i.e. use one of the other licences? if so how?

I think you're mistaking client access licenses for the actual server
licence.

Hi Steve

I set up two server 2003's on the evaluation additions, one came with a
Windows Server 2003 Administration Companion & the other was ordered
directly from Microsoft, the one from Microsoft, was installed about 6 weeks
before the 2nd, which came with the book, about two weeks ago the 1st
installation came to the end of it's 180 day trail. When I came to it in the
morning I could not gain access to the server, I could not run a
R(re-install) or access the system in safe mode, I was locked out!! So I had
to do a fresh install, not too bad as the server was not part of the net
work & was doing nothing in particular. The 2nd server however is beening
used in the Audio Rooms & rebuilding it would be a major hassle because of
the current work load......!

In windows XP, in regedit, you can remove the Product key which in turn
forces a re-registration, at this point you can change the Product key &
make a telephone call to register the product. I do not know how to make
these changes in the Server 2003 Software? This is the problem, I hope it's
making sense?
