I have active directory with DNS setup on Primary Domain Controller.
Internet is working fine all users have their DNS pointing to this server,
and server has it's own address in the tcp/ip properties for DNS.

What I need to know is we have one machine dedicated for a certain
application that connects to a host server called direct.beilstein.com using
Port 8001. When user tries to connect entering username and password the
error comes back saying can't connect to this server error=1. Do I need to
add something in DNS to allow this to work. Everything worked fine until we
did the upgrade to active directory and DNS. Please any help would be much
appreciated.

Thanks in advanced

Does the server in question also point to the DC for DNS? Do you have DNS forwarders set on your DNS servers?
