Seriuos IE6 problems

For a month now I've been struggling with a problem
that's very confusing. Many times, IE6 will lock up and
report an " Exception Access Violation " error involving
Java. My home page now uploads with strange fonts(didn't
do this before)and Java does not work, although I've
tested it at other sites and it seems to be working OK.
And now I can't right click on my start menu. I've
uploaded the new Java2 at java.sun.com, I've run Adaware,
Spybot, CWshredder and Hijackthis, I've done a
scandisk/defrag. I'm getting ready to reformat my drive
if I can't fix this. Anyone seen these systoms. Thx
