Hi all,
bought this card yesterday, nothing but trouble. This is the point I am at
now.
I have a MSI 6340 BIOS 4.3 motherboard with an old rivaTNT2 (PCI) with a
small monitor. The new radeon is (of course) in the agp slot with my main
monitor. Due to earlier problems I had to disable the use of dcc. The
motherboard searched for videocards in the AGP slot first. I FINALLY got
everything working. Untill I rebooted
suddenly the motherboard didn't
"see" the radeon, it just used the PCI. First this happened a few times and
suddenly it worked again but then again a few times not. Now it isn't
working at all anymore
My research:
- the radeon (cooling part) becomes very hot, you can't touch it. Strange
since it is NOT used
- the random acceptance of the motherboard might be related to this heat
(sounds reasonable)
- this is probably not a driver issue. I searched for updates of my BIOS, I
couldn't find them (the version 4.3 is the problem) also i don't know if
this is gonna help
-I updated my motherboard drivers but it brought be deeper into troubles.
My tries:
- put the aperture size in my bios on every setting there is. no clue what
it is though, it didn't help either
- disabled 4X mode, no luck
- installed and deinstalled every freakin driver there is for the
card/motherboard.
ANY help is HIGHLY appreciated!
