Hi guys
Hope someone can help me out, I've just fitted a Maxtor 120Gb SATA drive to
my system, done a clean install of XP everything fine.

The problem I have is, in Device Manager it shows Other devices - RAID
Controller which is fine, but after I install the drivers for it, Windows
just hangs at the boot screen, and I have to re-boot using last known good
configuration. But I can do everything as normaol in windows, play games,
internet, install other hardware and drivers.

Just as extra info, I have an 80Gb ATA133 drive in as a non-booting drive on
IDE0.

Hope you can help me.

Thanx in advance
Fenriz

you have to install raid drivers for XP at the beginning of the OS
installation, by hitting F6 and using a floppy with the raid drivers. It will
do good to load them after the OS is installed. DOUG

I did that, when I installed XP, but when it finished installing, and I
started installing all the other drivers nforce, video etc, it still had the
RAID Contoller under Other devices.

Did you set the first boot device to "SCSI" in the BIOS after installing
Windows XP ?

Yep, did that too....guess I'll have to format and re-install again, but try
a different raid driver this time

driver on the install disk is unsigned. You can get a better driver from
windows update.I did that and I could't get my machine to go into standby.
