SERIOUS PROBLEM - no activex control can be installed

for some time now i cannot seem to install any new activex controls. whenever
i go to a site that requires one (lets say microsoft update) i get informed
that i should see the blue security tab, but i see non. lately i can't even
install macromedia flash player. i use XP Pro SP2 w/ ie6 & ZonaAlarm & Nod32.
tried to do the same with ZA & Nod32 unloaded - didn't work. tried to play w/
security setting in ie - didn't work. PLEASE HELP ME!!! i realy don't want to
reinstall windows...

The fix detailed in 909889 involving the Registry and OLE32.DLL is available

checks the 4 values and offers a repair option if any of them are
incorrect).
