The offline files feature in XP is starting to give me
serious problems for a couple of weeks now. I have used
it on my notebook for months without any major problems,
but recently things have become unacceptable. A number of
applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, others) frequently
(not always) hang when trying to save large files on an
offline location. This seems to happen mostly for files
several MB large. When it happens, not only does the
application hang completely, it also cannot be killed
from Task Manager, and I am also unable to logoff or
reboot the machine (hangs at "Closing network
connections"), so that the power button is the only
recourse.
Does naybody have any suggestions as to how I can fix
this? If not, is there any third-party solution I could
substitute?
Thanks for any advice.
