Currently I am running Excel 2000, SR1. I have two
problems. Please help.
1. I am facing a peculiar problem with my Excel
worksheet. Every time I am clicking to any worksheet cell
it is getting attached to my mouse. I cannot get rid of
this deep bondage between the highlighted cells and my
mouse! In results, with my mouse's movement, all contacted
cells are getting highlighted. I have to kill the runaway
excel spread sheet to get out this misery. Interestingly,
when I try to kill the job, first a message window comes
up stating I cannot quit. But eventually, end process
kills the job anyway. This unfortunate situation forced
me to stop using excel completely. How to solve this
serious problem?

2. How to convert a excel document to word. I am also
running Word2000, SR1.

Hi
1. try hittin F8 (if you have the extended mode enabled).
If this does not
help have a look at
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/ghosting.txt
--- My problem is deeper than this. I cannot touch even
an empty cell or col. of an empty sheet. The moment I
touch any cell/col get stuck (if you call that ghosting)
And yes I am using a Kingston turbo wheel mouse. I cannot
even change the sheet in excel. If I try to change the
sheet, I see a small icon of page stuck with the mouse tip
and operation stops.
2. What do you mean with convert to 'Word#. You could copy
contents from Excel and paste them into a document
--- Well problem is I cannot select any cell as it get
stuck with the mouse. So electing a section is not
possible. The whole operation get ineffective. Further
more, I am trying to import an excel file (a simple doc
file without any macro or formulea)in MS word

Hi
for your first problem: Have a look at the possible
solutions provided in the link I gave you. sometimes
changing / updating the mouse driver will help

For the second part: You can't simply import a Excel
document into Word (different formats, etc.) The usual way
is to copy a part of your worksheet and paste it into
word. Another option is to use 'Insert - Object - Create
from File' in MS Word

HAve you rebooted?
