serious error the last time it was opened

I have a 6M db that gives this error:
caused a serious error the last time it was opened
Do you want to continue opening?
I click Yes and I get the error screen asking me if I want
to send the error message to Microsoft.

Is there any hope for my db? Of course, I have no backup!

*Make a back-up copy of the database, even damaged* so that you can always
go back to the same starting point.

Try Compact & Repair command on a copy. If this doesn't work, see Tony
Toews' article:
