serious error message at each reboot

Our computer yesterday shut down for no reason. It then
came up with a minidump error screen (mini041001-01) and
now every time we reboot or restart the computer, it
gives the same "computer has recovered from a serious
error" message. How do we get it to stop showing that
message?

I found a patch on microsoft.com, but it indicated we
coul not use it because it was older than the service
pack on our Windows XP.

What can we do to get rid of that message and does
anybody know why we got that error in the first place
(the minidump)??
