I have a massive presentation due tomorrow which has a lot
of money riding on it. Today I came home and swtiched my
laptops domain/workgroup so I could connect to my home
printer and share files with my home desktop. I changed
the settings in Windows, and I can not, for the life of
me, login in. The re-occurring login error message is:

"The system could not log you on. Make sure your User name
and domain are correct, then type your password again.
Letters in passwords must be typed using the correct case.
Make sure that Caps Lock is not accidentally on."

I have already tried the logon boot-up disk crack. The
crack ran successfully, but I still cannot logon. What can
I possibly do? I am desperate. Reply ASAP!!!

Call your SysAdmin and see if he'll tell you the password.

.

My concern is that it might be a simpler solution like how
I am entering my username (if I should do
domain\\username, or whatever) and I can find it out here.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

hi Colin jsut to make clear u took your laptop home
chnaged yoru odmain name right then when u went back to
your company you oculdnt log back on cos of worng domain
name well ok but can u login as administartor on the local
machine not the domain? if you forgot your admin password
just crack it using the crack then login as admin locally
then right clcik my comuter icon -proerties- network
identification here you can change back to the correct
domain name as long as you know what it is and have rights
to add your computer to the domain if u have not the right
get your IT guy to do it for u ok now if u cnat seem to
add yourslef ot the domain go back and check network
connectivty issues like pinging the domain controller etc
if u can ping it you willl be abale to ocnnect to the
domain

hth hope its not too late

if you're having problems loging into the domain, log in
to the local profile by changing the selectio on the
dropdown bar on login, and if you still have no luck if
it is win XP do a repair on the OS no personal data will
be lost you might have to re-register office, but other
then that you can get to you're files once again.

When you change a workstation from a domain to a workgroup your domain login
is removed (why - because you are no longer part of the domain) There is
only one thing you can do. Take the laptop to work and have a network admin
meet you there. Only a network admin can add you back to the domain. Your
laptop must be physically connected to the network that has the domain
controller.

If the network admin is willing, they may give you the local administrator
account and password to login.

Holy cow - spell check?
