Does anyone know what is required to get Windows to print
to a serial port?

Thanks, Naomi...

When you install the printer it asks you which port to use.
After that you can go to the Printer properties and there is a Ports tab
where you can change the port..
This assumes you have a serial port on your machine.

What operating system? What kind of printer?
Windows XP and Oki ML320 Turbo.
I have contacted Oki about this and they have not replied as yet.

Have you checked the serial communications parameters (ie baud rate,
handshake...). There should be a setup in the printer properties. They must
match the printers settings or it won't work.
