Serial Port (Com 1) - Problem

Hello,

Every time I boot my machine, Com 1 (serial) is in use (busy) and I
can't use it until I uninstall the Communications Port 1 and reboot.
It doesn't matter if I have something on the port or not. Once I
uninstall and reboot, it works fine until I shut the machine down
then, I go through the same procedure.
There are no new drivers listed for the port and it uses the generic
Windows drivers (Driver\serial.sys) etc.

Any clues, anyone?

Thanks

reinstall the printer port because there is a place in
that process where the words on the actual screen don't
match what the directions say. Evidently you didn't have
that problem or if you did you found a way around it.
Any ideas?
