serial & parrallel loopbacks

I am thinking of buying serial and parrallel loopback connectors but have no
idea as to what software to use with them - Is there any suggestions from
this group.

I made my own loopbacks serial DB-9 and DB-25 and parallel DB-25 with
leftover connectors. I use Norton Utilities, got the pinout from Scott
Muellers Hardware book. I use old NU DOS v7 and V95 for testing ports.
These same loopback pinouts work with other diags I have but not all. I
can't remember which software (QuickTech Pro, PC Pro, Checkit) as I just use
Norton for loopback testing. I think PC Pro works with the plugs but not
Quicktech Pro.
