Serial Number for and PocketPC 2003 device

I am trying to get the serial number using this way,

the second post http://www.opennetcf.org/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=88.

Using KernelIoControl seems to work on all the HP Ipaqs i've tried it on but
i tried it on a Toshiba e750 running Pocket PC 2003 and it returns
00000100-0000-0000-0000 all the time.

Is there a way to get a unique number per PocketPc that is independent from
the hardware??

Is there a seperate way of getting a serial number from Toshiba pocket pcs??

The sample listed at first URL in your message works fine on my pocket pc
toshiba e755 (ppc2003.
